So you are thinking about embarking on a life changing trip.
This can be a mind-bending decision to make, whether you are leaving for 2 months or 2 years. Having to take a leap of faith and embark on the unknown means leaving behind your full time job, your friends and family, and the comfort of home. This can be such a daunting thought!
It is so hard to make a decision based on the unknown. Like, what if your travels don’t live up to your expectations and then you have nothing to go home too! What if you don’t meet anyone and you are left to travel the world in solace. What if you leave only to find that your small town is actually the most fascinating place in the entire world.
What if , What if, What if…
You can always think of the what if’s in life and trust me, I have thought about many but I can tell you with a whole heart there is nothing worse than thinking what if I had done it? What if I had quit my job? What if I had bought that plane ticket? I have taken numerous leaps of faith throughout my life and I am so glad that I did. They have always worked out in my favour. I heard a great quote the other day that has stuck with me “Fortune favours the brave” and I truly do believe this.
I guess the point is, you can’t make the decision purely on an intellectual level because your intellectual side will always tell you to stay because the unknown is just too risky.
